Venture Founders provides travel funding for Virginia Tech students who have been admitted to external competitions, accelerators, and entrepreneurship programs. Students first gain admission to an external program (such as TechStars, Y-Combinator, 500 Startups, RAMP, or Global Student Entrepreneur Awards), then apply to Venture Founders for merit-based travel support.

Awards are up to $500 per individual for team travel, with a maximum of $2,500 per startup concept per fiscal year (July 1-June 30). On-campus competitions and programs are not eligible. The program also selects one team from the Startup Hokies Incubator to represent VT at the ACC Inventure Prize event annually.
