Founded in 2017 with funding from GO Virginia, the City of Roanoke, and Virginia Western Community College, RAMP is a member of the Global Accelerator Network (GAN).
The program operates at four levels:
- Ecosystem Navigator Program: 30-minute 1-on-1 sessions for any innovator seeking guidance
- On-RAMP: Pre-accelerator for early-stage idea-phase businesses
- RAMP In-Residence: 12-week flagship accelerator offering $20,000 equity-free seed funding, free office space, 1:1 expert mentoring, access to investors, GAN perks ($1M+ value), and three additional years of Exit RAMP support
- Exit RAMP: Post-accelerator investment series to prepare alumni for VC and angel fundraising
Impact: 61 companies accelerated, $28M+ capital raised, 850+ jobs created. Two cohorts offered annually. Run by the Roanoke Blacksburg Innovation Alliance (RBIA) with offices in Roanoke and Blacksburg.
