Office of Technology Transfer and Innovation Works

The Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) at Morgan State University manages the university's intellectual property portfolio, including patent applications, trademarks, copyrights, licensing, and commercialization. It works with faculty, staff, and students to fulfill federal technology transfer obligations and bring innovations to market.

The Innovation Works (I-Works) initiative under OTT translates research into local economic development opportunities and jobs. I-Works includes the I-GAP Grant program for early-stage commercialization funding.

Morgan State participates in the Maryland Innovation Initiative (MII) through TEDCO, a statewide technology transfer program. The university also partners with the University of Maryland on an Emerging Technologies Internship Program (funded by VentureWell, $29,952) using the NSF I-Corps process.
