Morgan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center

The Morgan Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) is the central entrepreneurship hub at Morgan State University, located in the Graves School of Business & Management. Its mission is to address disparities in business ownership rates and entrepreneurial success among people of color through research, education, and expanded access.

The IEC is a regional center in the Howard University & PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship network, one of four HBCU regional hubs alongside Clark Atlanta University and Texas Southern University. The National Center is based at Howard University and supports sharing of entrepreneurship expertise, best practices, research, resources, and programs across HBCUs.

The Center offers degree programs (BS, MS, PhD in entrepreneurship), courses (ENTR 350 Value Creation, ENTR 460 Start a Business, ENTR 461 Grow a Business), and administers programs including HBCU Startup Scholars, Start A Business – Change Your Life Program, Leadership Circles, and the Morgan Business Mentor Network.

Funding sources: PNC Foundation (via Howard University sub-award), Notre Dame University's Urban Poverty Business Initiative, Hunt's Memorial United Methodist Church, and Mr. Michael Seibel.
