NSF I-Corps at Morgan State University
Morgan State University students participate in the National Science Foundation's Innovation Corps (NSF I-Corps) program, a highly selective national program that helps researchers and student innovators move their work toward real-world commercialization through customer discovery, entrepreneurship training, and mentorship.
Team AgroVision (Summer 2026 Cohort) — Four graduate engineering students (David Nyarko, Obiageli Nwachukwu, Marvellous Ododoh, Dapiriye Briggs) developed a modular hydroponic system with AI-powered disease detection, automated nutrient management, and AR/VR training capabilities. The team received $50,000 through NSF I-Corps and previously won $100,000 at the 2025 Capital One/DSU Innovation Venture Competition (total: $150,000).
Faculty advisor: Dr. Kofi Nyarko, professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and director of the Center for Equitable Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Systems (CEAMLS).
