TechTransfer and Ventures is VCU's technology transfer and commercialization office under the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. It protects and licenses VCU inventions, manages the VCU Startup Accelerator, and supports spinout formation through coaching, entrepreneur-in-residence support, and advisory services.
Track record: 90+ startups created, 60 products brought to market, $45M+ licensing revenue, 324 licenses/options, 1,978 invention disclosures, 2,521 patents filed, 311 patents issued, 700+ industry engagements. The office also manages a venture director who provides business model templates and guidance to faculty entrepreneurs.
