About the program · 1 linked sources

The VCU Startup Accelerator is VCU's first formal accelerator program, launched in March 2024 by TechTransfer and Ventures. The program is designed for faculty researchers commercializing VCU-owned intellectual property.

Participants receive personalized coaching and advisory services from entrepreneurs-in-residence, development of a customized business strategy, and help with applications for funding. The accelerator culminates in a springtime pitch event co-sponsored by Activation Capital that awards cash prizes and additional support to winners. The first pilot cohort of five companies pitched in May 2024. Spring and fall cohorts are planned.
