The Galant Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is housed in the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. Established in 2008 with funding by Mark E. Galant (McIntire '80), the Center encourages, educates, and empowers students to create positive impact and lasting value in the global marketplace.
The Center runs the Galant Challenge Program, which since 2012 has deployed more than $37 million in seed and early-stage capital to emerging ventures. The year-round program provides opportunities for UVA students to learn about due diligence, startup leaders to pitch for funding, and alumni investors to join a growing network of VC funders. The annual Galant Challenge Showcase takes place in April.
Additional programming includes the Founders Forum (a daylong gathering of entrepreneurs and industry leaders), speakers and workshops, and student groups including Forge, Virginia Venture Fund, and SEED Consulting.
