Mid-Hudson Regional Business Plan Competition
Annual business plan competition hosted by Marist University as a regional qualifier for the New York State Business Plan Competition (NYBPC). Open to students from 7+ area colleges including Marist, Vassar, Bard, Iona, West Point, SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Ulster, and the Culinary Institute of America.
Six competition tracks: Technology & Entertainment, MedTech, Energy & Environment, and others. Regional winners receive cash prizes and advance to the statewide NYBPC for additional prize funding. Hosted annually at Marist since ~2012.
Assessment
Long-running (11+ years) regional pitch competition with established multi-college participation and a clear pathway to state-level prizes. The $5K-$15K prize funding is at the state level rather than Marist-originated. Serves as a meaningful regional entrepreneurship event but is not a Marist-exclusive funding vehicle.
