    Application and Timing

BVA8 early applications were due May 29, 2026, and regular applications were due June 12, 2026. The program runs July through October. The official BVA8 Demo Day page lists Friday, October 9, 2026, at 4 p.m. in Locatelli Hall.

    Participants

The accelerator FAQ, reflected in the program description used by the university, says students, staff, alumni, researchers, visiting scholars, and faculty may apply. A June 5, 2026 Leavey news item specifically invites undergraduate founders.

    Funding and Equity

Founders are eligible for a non-dilutive cash stipend. The June 5, 2026 note says the program takes 0% equity and offers non-dilutive funding or resources per team. The accelerator page says founders do not give up equity or convertible debt to participate, and that there is no fee or tuition. The stipend amount is not stated. Fund investment is described separately and its terms are not stated on these pages.

    Recent Activity

The June 5, 2026 undergraduate note set a June 12 deadline. Checked October 8, 2026, against the official BVA8 Demo Day page. It prints "Oct. 9" and "4 p.m." (2026-10-09T16:00:00-07:00) at Locatelli Hall. The description says: "4:00pm - SCU's "Shark Tank". Broncos pitch their startups to investors." and "6:30pm - Network reception with food & beverages." The page does not publish a 7:00 p.m. end and does not say the event will be streamed.

    Known Startups or Winners

The June 5, 2026 note says more than 30% of startups receive professional funding after Demo Day and that one undergraduate team from the prior year raised $2 million. It does not name the team. Historical cohort counts from 2019 through 2024 are on the accelerator page.
