Startup Sprint is the two-week middle stage of NYU’s Startup Accelerator Program, between Startup Bootcamp and nyu-summer-launchpad. Teams test a prototype with customers at the nyu-leslie-elab. Application and Timing

The program runs twice a year, in January and May, all day on weekdays at the Leslie eLab. The page lists January 4–15, 2027. It also says applications for that session open October 26, but that line does not print a year, so October 26 is not listed as a deadline. The next confirmed date is the January 4, 2027 session. Info-session attendance is required for at least one teammate. Startup Bootcamp, a half-day workshop and a prerequisite, is not a separate program note.

    Participants

Teams from any NYU school. At least one founder must be a current student, faculty member, researcher, or staff member, or a recent alumnus. The page says “Spring 2025 or later” in one place and “no earlier than Spring ’24” in another. At least two people must attend full time, in person, in New York. A completed Startup Bootcamp, or a waiver, is required. Faculty and researcher teams may also use the Tech Venture Workshop. The page says about 14 teams are selected from 80 or more applications.

    Funding and Equity

Every selected team receives $1,500, as reimbursement for customer discovery and prototyping, and may apply for an additional $500. A summary line says up to $2,000 in grant funding. The page also lists $25,000 in Google for Startups credits and $25,000 in Microsoft for Startups credits, plus legal office hours from Fenwick & West. It does not say the grant takes equity. funding_max is the $2,000 grant ceiling, not the cloud credits.

    Recent Activity

The Sprint page was live on 2026-10-08 with the January 2027 dates.

    Known Startups or Winners

The page names earlier accelerator-path ventures, including Resist Nutrition, Baton, Dathic, Ephemeral, Frich, GigFinesse, Jones, MyWellbeing, Food Period, and Visura. It does not say each one was a Sprint team only. Those names are left off the startup directory unless a captured sentence ties the venture to this program specifically. The page’s own tags show Baton, Dathic, Frich, GigFinesse, and Food Period with a Startup Sprint label.

    Verification Gaps

The two alumni-eligibility dates on the same page disagree (Spring 2024 versus Spring 2025). Equity is not discussed. A full current cohort list is not published.
