Villanova Student Entrepreneurship Competition
The Villanova Student Entrepreneurship Competition (VSEC) is a semester-long, interdisciplinary student venture competition run by the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Application and Timing
Annual spring cycle. 2026 timeline: registration due early February, preliminary materials due mid-February, semi-finals through March-April, Pitch Day in late April.
Participants
Open to all current, degree-seeking Villanova students. Teams of 1-5 students. Interdisciplinary composition recommended. Alumni coaches are assigned to semi-finalists.
Funding and Equity
Over $20,000 in cash prizes and in-kind services. Grand prize: $10,000 (sponsored by Scarpa Center). No equity taken. Rule: ideas must have earned less than $10,000 in competitions or raised less than $25,000 in capital.
