About the program · 2 linked sources

Golden Idea is the Hatchery's annual pitch competition for students who want support, mentorship, and funding to launch an idea. The page says all current Southern Miss students, in any major, may participate, alone or in teams of up to five. At least half the team must be current Southern Miss students, and every participant must be enrolled at an accredited four-year college.

The 2026 path on the page is a March 4 application deadline, a March 26 mentor mixer and lightning pitch for the top 21, selection of eight finalists, and a live finale on May 1, 2026 in Scianna Hall. The events page says three top prizes are awarded.
