The Summer Incubator is a 6-week, 240-hour intensive summer program for UR students, powered by a partnership with Virginia's Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program (ICAP). Students learn the Lean Launchpad methodology, conduct 40+ customer interviews, and deliver three presentations (preliminary thesis, business model canvas, final lessons learned). Accepted students receive a $3,000 stipend. The program is fully remote and open to all majors. Participants become Richmond Innovation Fellows and may continue pursuing their venture through a capstone course. Notable alumni include AnswerThis.io (Y Combinator, $500K), Absurd Snacks, and Angel Detection Solutions.
