The Rothberg Catalyzer Fund and EPIC (Engineering Pitch and Innovation Challenge) is an annual pitch competition at UM's College of Engineering, sponsored by Dr. Jonathan Rothberg (biotech pioneer, National Medal of Technology and Innovation). Founded 2023. 15 finalists each year receive $2,000 prototype grants, with top prizes of $5K-$30K. Faculty mentors: Suhrud Rajguru and Samiul Amin. Open to all UM students with interdisciplinary teams encouraged. 2026 winners included StyloSight (1st, $30K).
