Center for the Creator Economy

First academic center of its kind on a US college campus, launched November 2025 as a joint venture between the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. Positioned at the intersection of media/content creation and entrepreneurship.
Offers a creator economy minor (launching fall 2026) open to students from any school or college with three required courses: Introduction to the Creator Economy (Newhouse), Business Toolkit for Creators (Whitman), and an entrepreneurship elective. Physical space opened at Newhouse spring 2026 with professional production equipment.
Led by Vice Chancellor Mike Haynie with a national search for an executive director underway. Supported by a Student Engagement Council and Industry Advisory Council. Funded by gifts from Judith Greenberg Seinfeld (Creator Crew) and Nomi Bergman/Neal Bergman.
