Application and Timing
Round I is an application and video pitch, generally late January through February. Round II is a five-page executive plan and pitch deck. Round III is a live pitch at the Business Education Complex, typically in April.
Participants
Current on-campus LSU-system undergraduates or graduates, or alumni who finished an on-campus degree within the last year, may apply. LSU Online students are excluded. LSU students must represent at least 51 percent of company ownership. A person cannot be on multiple teams.
Funding and Equity
Three finalists share $50,000. The page says the minimum prize is $5,000 and the maximum is $35,000. Funds are paid to the finalists' LLCs, not to founders personally. The page does not take an equity stake; it requires an LLC before funds are released. Ventures cannot exceed $150,000 in lifetime revenue or $250,000 in lifetime equity investment.
