Canisius Enactus (formerly SIFE, founded 2004 by Patricia Hutton, PhD) is a student-led social entrepreneurship organization that applies entrepreneurial action to improve lives and communities. Enactus runs multiple community-embedded ventures and projects including the SEED loan program, Sew REDI (refugee economic development), YES (youth entrepreneurship), BESO (Mexico), Learn & Earn, and QuadGear apparel. The team has consistently ranked among the top Enactus chapters nationally.

Open to all Canisius students across all schools. Students from the Wehle School of Business, College of Arts and Sciences, and School of Education and Human Services participate.
Funding and Equity
SEED (Stimulating Entrepreneurial and Economic Development) program: up to $20,000 as cash collateral to women entrepreneurs enrolled in the Women's Business Center's Grow Program, in partnership with Evans Bank. Enactus students vet applicants and create strategic growth plans. No equity taken. Cash collateral arrangement enables bank lending to entrepreneurs who would not otherwise qualify.

Projects and Ventures
- Sew REDI / SRB (founded 2011): Refugee Economic Development Initiative. Teaches refugee entrepreneurs sewing and business skills. Products sold via Etsy and local markets. Artisans receive 100% of profit.
- YES (Youth Entrepreneurial Showcase): Teaches middle school students on Buffalo's East Side entrepreneurial skills. Students create t-shirt designs produced by QuadGear.
- QuadGear / Quad Graphics: Student-run customized apparel business, ongoing and handed down from seniors to juniors.
- BESO (Building Economic Sustainability Overseas): Canisius students travel to Morelia, Mexico to teach recycling-based entrepreneurship.
- Learn & Earn: Teaches children grades 3-6 about saving and delayed gratification.
- SEED: Cash collateral loan program for women entrepreneurs (up to $20K).
