About the program · 4 linked sources

The New Venture Accelerator is jointly managed by the Harbert College of Business and the Auburn Research and Technology Foundation. Harbert's page says it gives students physical space, workshops, mentoring, coaching, and experiential learning in a facility of more than 7,000 square feet while they pursue a degree. Its mission statement also covers faculty and staff startups and early-stage commercial ventures.

The about page says the accelerator opened in 2020, is directed by Lou Bifano, and uses entrepreneurs-in-residence for coaching. When captured, dedicated offices were at full occupancy and shared workspace remained available. The Tiger Cage page places student workspace in Suite 101, Research and Innovation Center, 540 Devall Drive.

    Application and Timing

Applicants complete an application. The page says the committee reviews usage and can graduate tenants. No fixed deadline is listed.

    Participants

Auburn student entrepreneurs, faculty and staff startups, and early-stage ventures. A selection committee of Harbert representatives, the research foundation, entrepreneurs-in-residence, and advisory-council members reviews applications. Early ideas may be asked to start in the Harbert Innovation Lab instead.

    Funding and Equity

The accelerator pages describe space and coaching, not a grant. Equity terms for residency are not stated. Tiger Cage award payments are approved by the accelerator director and are documented on that competition.

    Recent Activity

    Known Startups or Winners
