Sawmill Society Weekend is Rose-Hulman's annual alumni-entrepreneurship gathering, held April 24–26, 2026 alongside the Alumni Awards celebration. The Sawmill Society connects Rose Angels (alumni investors) with student founders through mentorship, feedback, and "Shark Tank"-style pitches (no equity taken); 150+ students engaged across the weekend's events.
Saturday — Ventureship pitches (paid summer startup support): CineScope (Umesh Sarma), Gridlock (Josh Muellenbach, Bryce McGrath), CRWN (Uche Osuji), and TMW Dynamics (Timothy Wong).
Sunday — Rose Angel Network pitches ($25K–$100K): Ply Labs E-Moto (Adam Jirovec, Davis Rubel), Alpha Trading Laboratories (Alexander Bradshaw), Unlayered (Philip Pounds, Alex Stedman), and ElectroWinds Midi Flute (Allyson Kogler).
The Tom Mason Innovation Award was presented to Joe Ritz (ME '93, founder of Blaze Biotech), and RISE announced a new Entrepreneurship Lounge in Blumberg Hall. Notable prior outcomes highlighted included Kalogon, Oro Muscles, Zernike Precision Optics, and Tsenta (Y Combinator Summer 2026).
