About the program
An annual Shark Tank-style pitch competition for FSU-affiliated research startups, part of the Discovery Days research celebration. $85,000 in total prizes awarded across 5 startups (3rd annual, 2025). 6-minute pitch + 8-minute Q&A format. Judges include investors from DeepWork Capital, K3 Investments, and FSU alumni. Supported by the IGNITE Tallahassee initiative. Covers deep-tech areas including preterm birth prevention, smart sensors, chronic wound healing, radioactive material screening, and energy grid analytics.
