About the program
StartUP FIU is FIU's university-wide innovation initiative supporting faculty and researchers in translating research to market. Uses a three-phase approach: Discovery, Development, and Commercialization. Since 2016: 350+ startups and small companies supported, creating 800 new jobs. Houses the Risk + Resilience Infrastructure Innovation Center. Offers non-dilutive grants, SBIR/STTR guidance, 1:1 consultation, workshops, and bootcamps.
